GOLDEN WEEK

Golden Week (Gouruden Wiiku) is a period containing various public holidays in Japan: "Showa no hi" is held on April 29th. It honours the birthday of Emperor Showa (Hirohito). "Kenpo kinenbi hi" is held on May 3rd, it´s Constituion Memorial day in celebration of the 1947 Constitution of Japan. "Midori no hi" is greenery day, on May 4th. It is dedicated to the nature. And finally on May 5th, Children´s day, "Kodomo no hi". In GW many people take the chance to travel. I went to Nara. There are also two more popular holiday periods in Japan: "Shougatsu" (New Year Holiday) and "Obon"(I know it is celebrated in the summer, but I´m not sure about the month, sorry).In this ocassion,they honor the deceased spirits of their ancestors.
